Even as late as less than a year ago, someone posted an article: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/3u2xjy/can_i_really_use_kde_with_intel_graphics/ with the title: "Can I really use KDE with Intel Graphics?" That's not a good thing to see, in 2015 no less. The consensus at this point seems to be yes, if one takes the time to configure the right settings to side step the bugs and limitations.
