Hi! I'll try to get someone to tell me the manufacturer name of my speaker. it's a really generic brand, but as I said, it works great. The speaker itself runs on 4 C batteries, and the transmitter can either run on the provided AC adapter or on AA batteries; I don't remember how many batteries the transmitter takes because I'm using it with an adapter right now. Next time I have a sighted friend around, I will try to remember to get the brand name for you. I found the speaker on Ebay, and could try to search for it again if you want. I paid $80 for mine, which included shipping. Missy
