It's like the latter part of your message... But I have another problem regarding this device and should I install it's software to run it?
Before I plugged it in and it did the copying with no problem from my documents, but today I am getting a list of 4 things..start the drive using the program, look at the drive, look in my documents, hmm forget the last thing.. I just wanted it to do like before and now for some reason it's doing something else. It's copying from my documents, but it's taking much longer to do it than it did the first time I used it and that is confusing me. When I first open or rather plug it into my USB ports, a list opens up with all sort of things to do and I arrow down to take no action and tab to the ok button. Next I open my documents arrow to the itme to copy and then do the Alt F thing pressing N and then arrowing down to the drive this thing is which is, J and pressing enter. It does say it's copying but seems to be doing it much longer than before. I just wondered if this is normal or should I be doing something else? I do look on the drive and hear several things I've copied are showing up on the drive, but a couple of things I'm trying to copy seem to take forever in getting copied and seem to be like stuck on 10 seconds left. Thanks for any help on this matter.. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Justice" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2008 1:20 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] External Hard Drive Question > Hi Patricia, > Both of my externals are ones that I built with a kit, and they have power > switches on them. > If you don't have a power switch on the external drive, > but it uses AC power, consider plugging it into a power strip > and then useing the switch on the power strip. > It's a good idea to have a habit of turning off devices that the computer > will not. > This will help prevent leaving them on, which could be considered a fire > hazard, when left unattended. > If the drive is powered by USB, then it should power off when the computer > shuts down. > HTH, > Richard Q.
