Hi Ishe; I found the reason Set Program Access and Defaults is not showing. I have my start menu set in classic start menu mode. If I put the start menu into just the start menu mode then, Set Programs Access and Defaults shows up in the start menu. Thanks again for all your patience and help. Take care. Mike

You don't need to reinstall Windows XP: simply do the following in order: 1. Press the Start menu. 2. When the start menu shows up, press ESCAPE to remove it. 3. Focus will land on Start button. 4. Press ALT+Enter to open the Start menu properties. 5. When the Properties dialog appears, tab to the Start Menu tab. 6. Press tab on this and get to "Customise" button. 7. Press the Customise button by hitting the space bar to open it. 8. You will see another dialog sheet here labelled "General". Ignore this one. 9. Tab instead to the one labelled "Advanced". 10. On the advanced tab, press tab until you get to where Jaws says "Items Treeview". 11. Here, use your arrow key to move around. There are lots of switches you can togle on or off. Your screen reader will tell you the state of each when you get to it. 12. When you come to "Set Program access and defaults", likely it is off. Press the space bar to toggle it on. 13. After this, just make sure you close this dialog by pressing Okay twice. Now open the start menu and you will see it listed as one of the items. You can also access the dialog box just stated above by going to the control panel and choose "Taskbar and start menu". Follow the steps listed above. Wish you the best.
