Hi John,

You are correct but, my suggestion was only something to try in case that
was all that was needed to get Adobe Reader to work correctly. Take care.

Mike, this is good stuff but unfortunately, it doesn't always work.
That's why I suggested just downloading a fresh copy.

  Hi Ken,

Before you uninstall Adobe & reinstall it try the following.
    1. Go to your Adobe shortcut Icon & press enter. Open the edit menu
with
the the Alt + E Keystroke, & arrow up to preferences & press enter.
   2. If you don't like to do it from the edit menu, Press control+k in
the
  main
window of Adobe Reader. Either way, you want to find the General Tab.
    3. tab until you find a checkbox called enable protected mode at
startup,
  and uncheck it.
Then, press yes to continue after the worning.
    Then, press OK.
    4. Close adobe reader and start it again.

  Hope this helps. Take care.

  Hi Adi;

1 minor step to add to your information is, after pressing Control + K,
for
preferences, arrow down to, General, to find, to enable protected mode at
startup, & uncheck. Hope this helps. Take care.

    Thanks John,

I was afraid I might have to take those steps, but I thought I'd throw
it
out there to see if anybody might have an idea of some kind of "quick
  fix".
