Leather is my go-to product for making money. Of course, as you unlock more abilities/perks, leather sells for even more.
Incidentally, I am at a point where I produce four logs in one slot every 1.8 seconds or so. I have thirty slots going (and was that expensive to set up - even with the real estate boosts going). They don't earn as much as leather strips (not even close), but I am taking in a decent chunk of change - especially as I am continuing to grow my storage toward 15,000.
