Hi, Allan. Yeah, it is really like a new language. It is almost as bad as the first time I read a programming book. I had no idea what i was looking at or what I was doing. The same here. However, the more I scan through all the files downloaded the better I get a feel of the general game. I discovered by starting with the list of player classes helped somewhat know what kinds of heros were possible, and what classifications there were. I also read all the monser clsses, and did pretty much figure out that some monsters would be used in only special situations, and specific stories. If the rpg was in a frozen plane for example then winter wolves would be esentual to include in that kind of case. However, if we are exploring a dark and gloomy cave Winter Wolves would be out of place and we would expect something more sinister like a Trogladite, vampire bats, undead skelitons, etc.... That helps narrow things down some. I guess what my major hangup is game mechanics. How, to figure the rolls of the dice and apply the various factors in to the over all effect of the dice throw. My problem is made worse as I have to program or design a AI which will make a somewhat realistic dm for my game adventures. Smile.
