Well, I suppose the practice of having lug nuts turn different directions on
different sides of the vehicle proved to be too much for folks to deal with
because I just asked our truck driver friend about the lug nuts on his 2007
Freightliner and they all turn the same way.
Oh well, so much for innovation?
Just remember that it was Chrysler who came up with the Phillips screws.

It isn't true on my 05 Chrysler. Counter-clock--wise loosens all 4 wheels.
However, it is true on my dad's 2000 Freightliner. I do not recall which
side turns which way either.

Hi all,
Actually Chrysler is the culprit for this one.
The lug nuts on a Chrysler product are designed so that the rotation of the
wheel will not tend to cause the lug nut to loosen.
I don't happen to have a handy Chrysler type vehicle to go see which
direction the lug nuts turn on which side of the car.
I also do not know if this is still tru of Chrysler products but it started
way back in the Forties or early Fifties I believe.

Robert, on my work bench is an old but sturdy 4 way lug wrench. it has
three sizes of lugs and one , or the fourth one is the pry bar setup .
it was great for changing tires on a old I think 1970 something
Plymouth Fury my father in law had. I got new hemorriods trying to
change the tire until I found out Plymouth turned the opposite way to
remove the lugs. Now I save that work for the kids. Lee
