I want to say it's a ring style, much like the tip of a spark plug with the little screw on tip missing. If it is like that, it will have a plug with a 90 degree end. Try gently twisting it and rocking a little at a time and pulling. If you have the new sending unit you can look at the end and see what the connector looks like. There isn't any oil leaking from the sending unit so it is clean. I am replacing it because the oil light is illuminated and won't go out. The engine oil level inddicates full on the dip stick.
