I would tend to think there is a coincidence in the bulb being in a fan and it failing. Someone has to be that 1 in a million and you won the lottery this time. hahaha

There are lots of places where a bulb is likely to experience vibration or mechanical shocks. If they are more delicate than the thin tungsten wire, they aren't all that useful. Regards. Max.
