I mentioned here before, that when they did the initial install of cable
and phone wires at my house, lord knows how many years ago, long before I
purchased the place, they ran the wires all over the outside of the house
rather than one wire into the house and then split from their.

I ripped all those wires down and got myself down to a single hole in the
house where the phone and cable enter, then fished wires up through the
interior walls. Makes the outside look a bit cleaner.

Well, as I am wont to do, I went over the top and decided it would look
even cleaner to have the phone and cable wires come down the side of the
house enclosed in PVC conduit rather than just hanging down the side of
the house. I finally got the PVC up and sealed and anchored to the house.

I found the ductseal that folks told me about. I plugged the top end of
the conduit where the wires enter. I then wrapped the end with weather
proof tape. I then used some more of the ductseal at the bottom end where
the wires actually enter the house. I put a PVC box there attached to the
house. I just stuffed a bunch of ductseal in the box and closed it up.
Should be a hell of a mess for the poor bastard who ever has to pull the
wires out.

I used TapCon screws and little brackets to attach the conduit to the
house. I absolutely love TapCon screws. They are so dam easy to work
with.

Teresa sealed all around the box with calk, and I am pretty sure we now
have a dry penetration through the house.

I've been living on borrowed time though as I haven't reconnected the
cable line to ground. I'll do that some evening this week, hopefully not
while there is a thunder storm going on.

Later.
