  Hi
Only problem I see with just cutting around the furnature and moving things
back and forth is that taking up carpet is a very dirty job and I think you
will no doubt stir up a lot of nasty dust. Also what are you going to do
about the floor once the carpet is removed? Are you just going to clean it
up and leave it the way it is?
That might work depending on what is under the carpet. If it is some thing
like hard wood flooring and you rent and are not too concerned about
restoring the floor that might work. On the other hand if you just have some
kind of plywood or underlayment that might not be the best salution to just
  leave that as is.
Hope that is of some help.

hi list in my bedroom there is a carpet that needs to be taken up. what is
the best way to do this should I remove the furniture and cut the carpet in
to pieces or can I just cut around it and do this with out removing the
furniture in other words I move the furniture a little bit and cut up the
carpet as I move furniture around?
  all help will be appreciated.
  thanks so much.
