Dan,

 

Sorry for the confusion, but the angle must be set by a sighted person.  And
it does not beep when you are setting the angle. To set the angle, you have
put it on the angle you want, then press a "zero" button; then the level
will beep when you get to that angle.  But, as I said previously, in the
standard mode, it will beep at 0, 45, and 90 degrees.  If you're using the
level for the standard features, such as level, 45 and 90 degrees, then you
don't have to worry about seeing it because it will automatically beep at
those angels; however, a sighted person will have to help with the other
features.

OK, just so I am clear, the angle can be set by a totally blind person? 
Does it beep once for each one degree increment when you are setting the 
angle? Or do you just press the button X number of times and assume it 
registered each press?

sorry, not trying to be a jerk here, just trying to figure out if this 
level is more usable than others I've seen / heard about.
