Scott,

I am not sure i did it right the first few times either. I do believe you can
get a pdf of the manual from the website, so you won't need to try to scan it
in.

This is how I fold it. When I am standing in front of the saw, the wheels are
on the left, and the legs on the right. If you feel on the left side of the
table, you will notice a little handle type thing, straight down from there is
the blade and wrench storage, down a little further is another handle, and to
the right of that, towards the front of the saw is the nob to pull out. I pick
up on the handle on the end of the table with my left hand, and pull the nob
out with my right hand, then slowly lower the sawdown, if your shorter, you
might need to pull up on the lower handle then pull the knob, then switch to
the upper handle to get the saw lowered down. I then go to the right of the
saw, and pick up on the large handle that is on the frame and stand the saw on
end, find the knob for the legs, it is on the left of you now, towards the
front of the saw, by the leg, pull that now and lower the legs down.

For the micro adjustment on the fence, stand in front of the saw, and have the
fence on. The handle is at the end closest to you for locking the fence. On the
right side on the fence, on the bracket part, down by the rail, you should feel
a little wheel. Press the wheel in towards the fence rail, and turn the wheel
with your finger, or thumb.

make sure the fence is not locked, or it won't move. You can only slide out the
table extension when the fence is unlocked as well.

Hope that helps some.

Michael

Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] PORTIBLE TABLE SAWS

Michael, I ended up returning the Dewalt. I did not like a couple of
things, but the real issue was a problem in the mechanism that raised
and lowered the blade. It seemed to slip a little and made some
growning noises. I ended up getting the Ridgid saw after reading the
reviews and info. It was one hell of a box to drag into the house, I
really like that all the goodies can be stored onboard, and it seems
like a very stable saw. THe only thing I didn't like is the little
plastic key for the switch to turn it on. It seems a little to
flexible and I think loosing it would be a pain in the butt.
I'm also a little baffled by the rip fence. Apparently there is a
micro adjustment, but I don't know how that works. On the Dewalt, you
unlocked a handle on the underside which allowed you to use a knob to
move the fence a little at a time. I understand the Ridgid has this,
but haven't figured it out. Of course I haven't read the manual either
and I managed to put the accessories where they belong, change the
blade, and setup the unit from the folded to unfolded position. I
can't say that I'm unfolding it properly, but well I guess I got it
figured out.
