Scott: I've had about a week to play with the little robot shop vac. It
seems to have a more potent drive system than the other little robots do.
It actually gets into corners pretty well and goes under shelves, equipment,
whatever. It gets itself in trouble on occasion, but when that happens, it
stops, turns off its brushes and tries to back up. It has a sort of grill
protecting the two brushes, with bars that are maybe an inch and a half
apart, so it presumably won't pick up anything it can't handle, though mine,
on two occasions tried to eat bungy cords.

I've planted a few screws and other junk hardware around and it does pick
them up. It's strong enough to knock over 2 x 4s I had leaning on a wall,
and it had an argument with a drain hose I have now learned to pick up when
I'm using it.

My wife and I used the thing on our concrete pad/patio last Sunday, and it
was very good at staying on the concrete and not straying into the grass.
Mine runs for about an hour and three quarters then huts down. It beeps in
a certain pattern to let you know it needs its batteries charged, but it can
be hard to find the unit when there's other noise happening. Fortunately my
wife's dog is very good at finding these things so I've been using her until
I figure out another way to handle it.

RObotic shop vac, really, now how is this different than the regular
model? I'm curious how this unit really keeps up. I know just looking
at the regular room cleaner and from what I've been told, they don't
do so well with a lot of dog hair and the like, but overall they do a
fairly decent job. I guess they must since they are still making them.
