Lenny, yes, this would work fine. I had a wireless doorbell I was going to use but had to sacrifice it when our real one died. I'm sure the dog would like the low-tech alternative, but I'll go look at their page.

It beeps in a certain pattern to let you know it needs its batteries charged, but it can be hard to find the unit when there's other noise happening.
