Then I'm out of my wits here.

http://www.tb-software.com/products_2.html Win3D can import POV and 
convert it to various formats, but not SVG (as this is technically no 3D 
format anyway).

But once converted to OBJ you have a classic polygon mesh and can use a 3D 
modeler of your choice to change the model as you like and produce all 
kinds of output as needed.

I'd recommend Silo from Nevercenter: http://www.nevercenter.com/about/ 
although it has no own renderer.
