Hi roottoor,
this is my htaccess using CleanUrls on a standard installation that I
setup recently:
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine On
# Redirecting / to a field
RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /field/index.php?p=$1 [QSA,L]
# Add www
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example\.com [NC]
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.example.com/$1 [L,R=301]
# Skip images in the farm folder
RewriteRule ^boltwire/farm/img/.*$ - [L]
# Skip the files folders of your fields
RewriteRule ^field/files/.*$ - [L]
# 301 for old pages (had to rename some pages for SEO)
RedirectMatch 301 /oldpage http://www.example.com/newpage
Thats all, working excellent on my hosted server no.1
For another server I used a slightly different setup as posted in
bw.com. First, because I use not only one but more different fields
there. Second, the setup of the server is different (I do not know the
differences because that also a hosted server but from another
hoster). So maybe you have to try out both solutions or mix them.
I have a folder on my server called websites. This is the place for
the htaccess file side by side with the boltwire and the field
folders. The url is mapped on the websites folder.
Rewriting is only necessary for files that are addressed via the users
browser.
That means images and files.
Everything else is handled by boltwire internally (on a standard
setup).
Therefore you do not need a redirect for config, skins, backups etc.
To create a sitemap that can be found by Google via example.com/
sitemap use the sitemap plugin. It works perfectly and you do not need
a redirect either as far as I remember.
I am no expert here. I spent a lot of time with trial and error,
sifting through tutorials that you possibly read too these days.
If you have a valid case for re-sorting files and folders, tell us. BW
grew with proposals and help from the list. If your case is better
than the standard we use right now, there is a good chance we switch.
It is a little quiet here because Dan is moving his household. I am
sure he will come back on you if he is finally settled.
I suggest you download your custom installation to keep it, put up a
standard installation, figure things out and then recreate your custom
file structure step by step. From my experience this would be easier.
Did you think for possible security holes when tearing the whole thing
apart?
Greetings, Martin
