It seems to me that you are looking for interwiki links. Login at one (roottoor.org) and set new interwiki link at page site.interwiki as jboyd: http://www.jboyd.org login at second (jboyd.org) and set new interwiki link at page site.interwiki as roottoor: http://www.roottoor.org Now you have cross linked sites, and site.interwiki defined separately for each domain (it will not be changed during the update).
