Actually, this person posted an apology and an explanation several times in the thread. He/she does not strike me as someone who is trying to get away with something sneaky, but someone who got carried away with BXing and now feels terrible and humiliated to be flogged in public. He/she appears to be very interested in making amends to everyone involved.
*sigh* I don't know why, but I find Bookcrossers to be so mean-spirited at times and yet so generous and caring at other times. /gina -------Original Message------- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: 09/23/04 15:57:23 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [BookCrossing] Think I'll get flamed for this but... I can imagine many scenarios as well and I'm as understanding as the next guy. But the key is that this person hasn't offered any sort of explanation. If this person came out and explained herself--"I have OCD" or "I've been depressed, I just haven't read much, and I'm sorry about the backlog"--I'd have no problem. But to discover that this person, who I offered one RABCK book originally, who responded by asking for many more than the one, promising to move them along, and to whom I trusted and sent a *box* of books, well, it bugs me, it disturbs me. ed.
