I like the blue for the titles in Joel's version. I also like the grey for the programlistings. The syntax hilighting is a great idea, but I am not too keen on the choice of colours.
I tend to agree on that last point. Perhaps we could emulate the default syntax coloring of the VC++ IDE. Would that be better in your opinion?
The tables in Joels version look good, but I am not too keen on using lightskyblue for all of the elements in the table (it's okay for the header elements). I would prefer a light grey for the others.
Not all tables have a header row that should be treated differently than the others. We could pick a color, and then maybe give people a way to mark the first row as the header. Personally, I would be OK with grey as you suggest, or the blue Joel is using.
- the navigation icons?
I don't mind either way on this.

I am not sure what I should be commenting on here.
Borders, indenting, spacing, padding, etc. Is there too much space here or not enough there?
- the text justification?
I personally like justified text - on the screen at least. There is a way to to right-justified when printing and justified on the screen:
@media screen{ body{ text-align: justify; } } @media print{ body{ text-align: right; } }
I take it this would be your preference?
You can also wrap the colouring inside the "@media screen" section and get a regular black & white feel for printed HTML.
Agreed. Whatever CSS we use should make the text look nice when printed B&W.
