Hi James. I'm glad I could help. For what it's worth to you, everything that follows in your post is "skip to the end" material for me. I know the rules are different in other environments, and (no offense intended) don't care about the exact details of your intuition in this case and how it misled you. Skipping over the rest of a verbose post doesn't bother me too much, but you should know that when readers feel obliged do it, they are likely to skip over something important you might want help with or feedback on, that's buried in your text. You obviously have a lot to contribute here and I wouldn't want the salient stuff to get missed just because of stylistic issues. Anyway, I hope you don't find this advice offensive, but speaking personally, I'd rather not lose the value of your participation on account of my own lack of time.
