I would definitely understand a folder with that many files in it taking a long time to open, and if the network card didn't make a difference, I wouldn't have a question about it at all.

Also, if the Classic BrailleNote also took a long time to process the opening of this folder, I wouldn't question it, but that's not really the case. It's the network card that has me puzzled and why the MPower is so much slower in processing this information without it.

I suspect that the issue is not the size of the folder but more the number of files therein; I have a couple of folders in excess of 200mb but with only a handful of files in them and the file list opens within a few seconds - albeit this is on a standard BN with 6.11 and ot an mPower.

With a large number of files (I think I remember one being 1000+), you are asking the BN and operating system to do a lot of work in terms of retrieving, collating and sorting those entries and, therefore, I'm not surprised it takes a long time - although five minutes does seem a bit excessive!

Sorry, don't have any thoughts on the network card aspect.
