Hi KC,

Just to set the record straight, when the upgrade is progressing, each word is followed on the display by a number indicating the percentage of the upgrade that is complete. For instance, you will see the word "loading", followed by a number that starts at 0 and goes up to 100. This is repeated with the words "erasing" and "writing", in that order, each with the percentage indicator number following it on the display. There is no need to press enter, and I'm not sure it wouldn't do some harm to the unit if one were to press a key while an upgrade was in progress. Though I found the tones reassuring, I am completely confident that a deaf-blind person who was totally comfortable with the BrailleNote and installing software would have no trouble installing this upgrade. Still and all, I don't blame anyone for wanting to have an expert around to walk them through the process if they are nervous about it.

HTH

Hello Richard,
Yourmessage ws indeed helpful! Thank you.
Apparently, my two friends, who are deaf-blind, did't realize the
percentage indicator (which I assume you get by entering) is an alternative to the tones.
