Hello Don,
Well, here is what I did.
Earlier, I had a chance to see all of the files in all of my
folders I have on the sd card. So, I decided I needed to get
them off the card before something happened, so I went to file
manager and moved the files in each folder. I thought that this
would empty the folder on the sd card, but interestingly enough
the files are still on the sd card even though they are moved on
to the cf card.
So, I went and looked at the sd card, and the switch is where you
said it should be and I inserted the card back into the slot, I
did not get anything, it did not say card inserted or anything,
so I took it out again, removed the cf card and did a reset.
When that was done, I then inserted the sd card and it said card
inserted, so I went to look at the folders, and they were all
there, including the files that I had moved, so I thought I would
try moving a file from the cf card back to the sd card to see
what would happen, but the folders vanished in that amount of
time, so it could not move, since there were no folders to move
them to.
I really don't know what is happening, and I am afraid that it
will have to go back when I just got it Friday. If this is the
case, it will be the fourth time I have sent a unit back in as
many months.
Well, as you said, I hope to hear something from Dean or someone
from Humanware on the list tomorrow, since it will be there first
business day of the week.
Thanks for trying to help.
Robert

Okay,
Before going any further, check to see if it is write protected.
To do this, take the card out of the MPower and hold it so the
contacts which go in first are pointing toward you with the
little teeth pointing down just as it
would be if you were inserting the card.
On the right edge of the card you should feel an indentation just
a bit less than half-way back on the card moving away from you.
There is a little slider in there which you can move with your
fingernail and it slides either toward the contacts (closest to
you) or way toward the other end of
the card.
That slider should be in the position closest to you and the
contacts.
If it's in the position closer to the end of the card opposite
you (the end which sticks out after you insert it into the
MPower), then it is write protected.
Since it sounds like you've been moving cards in and out of the
bn, maybe you have to do a reset.
If none of all this works, I suppose it's time for a call to hw.
Sure don't blame you for not wanting to do that again though.

Hello Don,
I don't know if it is right protected or not, but I am really
beginning to believe it is not the card.
I just took the card out so I could copy files to the compact
flash card quickly on the pc, and now I have inserted it so I
could try and reformat it.
Well, the mpower says it cannot find the drive specified.
What do you make of this.
Thanks,
Robert

probably another shot in the dark, but are you sure the little
write-protect slide tab is in the correct position?
I've had problems with that a couple times and the thing is so
small that's it's often hard to tell if it's really
write-protected or not.

Hello everyone,
I have been able to get to a point where I can see the files in
my folders on the sd card.
What I am having a problem with now, is that I can open a file
read it do whatever I want with it.
If I try moving files or copying files from the compact flash
card to the sd card, it says the media is right protected, and if
I try opening any of my database files on the sd card, it says
the handle is invalid.
I hope someone can help.
Thanks,
Robert
