Hello Chuck and list,
I have received this message countless times. I usually do another
percentage command again, options menu followed by the letter P. Quite
often I'll get a percentage on the second try. Should this problem persist,
just run the battery down, do something with your unit that you enjoy doing
till the battery is dead, then charge it. Chances are this should solve
your problem unless your unit truly has a battery problem.

Subject: [Braillenote] battery gauge not accurate
I have been receiving the following message when checking the power status
on my Braillenote mPower: "AC adapter off. The battery is not critical. The
battery gauge needs recalibrating and is not accurate enough to give a
percentage reading." I have done a manual recalibration but this did not
seem to resolve this problem. If the AC adapter is plugged in I get the same
message except it says "AC adapter on ..." Does anyone have any ideas or
previous experiences with this message and how to resolve it so I can get
the percentage again. I have reviewed the manual and it mentions to let the
battery go down to critical and then recharge. I haven't done this yet as I
assumed the manual recalibration would do this.
