Every time I send my unit into humanware to be cleaned or have its battery
replaced, I delete the address.cdb file. I also delete the file which
contains all of my email information. I restore it when my unit returns.
That's just good sense.
Identity theft isn't due to stolen devices as much as it is due to people
hacking into your system and they can do that with your home system if it is
not protected.
People carry around all kinds of sensitive information on their cell phones,
PDA's and laptops all of the time. Unless the device is stolen or lost, your
identity is safe. But let someone hack into your home computer or hack into
the bank where you do business and steal information as was done with the VA
a few months ago and also a major clothing store chain and that's where
identity theft comes in.
Password protection should have been done on the bn years ago. Many new
devices such as the Ipaq 2795 and some laptops are now finger print
protected.
One can even buy a USB device that can be connected to a laptop to make it
fingerprint secure.
What about making drivers so this device can be used on a bn?
What about password protecting the bn?

Hello Ray,
This is a good thought,
But if I were to have a check registry program, or even better yet, excel, I
would do as I have done with my database program, and that is store it on a
compactflash card or sd card, so that I can take the cards out when I am
leaving the house and only put them in when I need the program.
Hth,
Robert
