Hi,
So, is there no cable from the router to the modem?
That could be the problem.
A cable should have come with the router. You plug the router into
the DSL Modem using the plug in that is closest to the power supply
jack on the router.
Then plug the Laptop into the router using any of the other connections.
The WEP key is something you can create.
Log into the Router settings,.
Go to the Security link.
There may already be a WEP key there, if so, just copy the numbers
and letters exactly.
If not, there will be a place for a password phrase that you enter,
then a button to create the WEP key.
Use something with letters and numbers, like cats1234 or something
easy to remember.
Then, hit the create WEP key button.
You will find a 26 character key that is a mixture of numbers and letters.
On your BN, you would set Use WEP to yes, then enter that exact key
into the braillenote using computer braille.
Once you get it all working, also turn off the "Broadcast SSID, so
anyone near by cannot see that you have a wireless network.
Only after you get it all working though.
Let me know how it goes.

to. My laptop is not connected wirelessly. The cable that came
with the router one part is in my dsl modem and the other part of
the cable is in my laptop. My laptop is not wireless right
now. The settings on myt bn were all set right I don't know how to
find the wep key. I need to have my parents look for it or
something. How do you know what the router is set to?

Yes.
Is it on mixed or B?
Do you have a computer connected to it and can the computer
connect
to the web without a problem?
Is "Use infrastructure mode" set to yes
Is "use shared authentication" set to no?
Are you using WEP for security? If so, did you get the number
entered the same on the BrailleNote.
802.1x authentication should be set to 0.
Obtain an IP address automatically should be set to yes.
Use a Proxy server should be set to no.
I hope that helps.

Hi,
Did you enable DHCP rather than using a static IP address?

Hi listers, I had my dad change a setting on the router but I am
still unable to do anthing except connect to the router. I can
connect to the signal but nothing else. It still says can't find
server. I have tired testing connection many times since
yesterday
and it always says bad ip address or something to that nature.
