The Mpowers have a much quieter Braille display and serious Braille readers love it. However a brand new unit is a lot of Euros and doing a transplant can save you a lot of money. Far as whether you should buy a BrailleNote or a packmate, I personally own a BrailleNote and love it. You should ideally get a hands-on trial of a current model of each and try them with real-life tasks. Then you may make an informed decision. Hope this helps.
