Cindy,

There's only one other thing I can think of and that is that you try to get into a habit of checking appointments for each day (which you probably do most times) and, if you do this quickly from the main menu with N+Dot 8 (BN, not sure of the key stroke for the QWERTY), then you'll know if an alarm is likely to go off while you're away. If so then you need only fix that one alarm by going into that appointment and changing it.

Yes, it's a bit long-winded. I sometimes wish I could get straight into that alarms menu too! <SMILE>

Rhonda,

Okay, the read+space is what I was missing when I am actually using the unit
and the alarm goes off.

Is there any setting that I could change on the fly to say disable all
alarms and flip back to having the alarms enabled? This would be useful if
I know I have an appointment that day but will not be taking the BN with me.
I don't want to actually disable the alarm for that specific appointment
because I sync my BN to the computer and the computer to the phone and vice
versa so I would still want the phone to go off but not the BN. Another
option would be if there was a way to globally disable alarms on the BN. I
always have the phone with me so its alarm would suffice. I do still want
to sync the planner because if I have the BN with me, that is my prefered
method of entering appointments.

Cindy

Hi Cindy:

Here is a little alarm information, though I'm not sure I got the
first part of your question.
If the VoiceNote mPower QT is on standby when the alarm sounds,
it turns itself on and brings up the alarm options menu:

To cancel the alarm: press C;

To postpone the alarm for 10 minutes: press SPACE.

If the VoiceNote mPower QT is on when the alarm sounds, first
acknowledge it by pressing READ with SPACE together. You are then
automatically placed in the Alarm options menu.

There are four items that you can select by pressing their
initial letter. They are: Cancel the alarm;

Read and hear the appointment details without canceling;

Postpone the alarm. A number of minutes will be offered; to
change it, type a new number of minutes
Go to the corresponding appointment in the planner. The alarm is
cancelled, and the cursor is placed at the start of the
appointment so that you can read its details.
