The braille intensity item allows the power supply to change the voltage that is passed to the display module. If you set the intensity to 3 or lower, the voltage will be reduced. This setting does affect Tieman cells, but there is no significant benefit for those who has KGS cells (although I've noticed some difference on my unit). On the KGS cells, however, it does allow the cell to be more "smooth" when you set the intensity to 3 or lower, but if you set the same value on an mPower with the Tieman cells, you'll find that it is more smooth and spongy.
