Michele,
No, it will not. The intensity setting merely changes the power requirements (the higher the value the greater the power requirements). I was talking about the clicking sound that the older displays made.

Joseph

Hi Don, Joseph and others. Does this mean
that a transplant unit's
Braille display may use more power because of
the intensity level than
one of the newer displays?

Thanks.

Michele

HI,

The degree to which braille intensity works
depends on which display you
have.

If you have a transplant unit or an older
classic unit where the
touch-cursor keys are rubberized, you have an
older display and the
intensity should make some difference.

If you have a later display which has the
plastic touch-cursor keys you
have a newer display and the intensity
setting does not seem to make
much if any difference.

At least, that's my experience.

Don

I have tried to reduce the intensity of
braille on the display by
going
into the options menu and choosing a
less-than maximal value for
intensity,
but to zero effect. Is there some issue in
Keysoft that has
broken the
braille intensity setting, or is there
something I'm missing?
