Hi Debby,

You don't appear to have gotten responses yet so I'll give it a shot.

First of all the symptoms you describe would indicate you have a problem connecting your bn to the internet whether to surf the web or get email.

You didn't mention how you're connecting to the net: that is via a wireless card or something else. Since you speak of connecting at home and elsewhere, I'll assume it's a wireless connection you're using.

If so, you could be almost out of range of the network you're trying to connect to. But, it sounds more likely that you may have a problem with your wireless card. They can get flakey and intermitent sometimes. I had an Ambicom card which did this once and had to get a new card.

Also, if you try to connect to the net and get the server not found message or you cannot download email, try a reset of the braillenote with no keys held down. You may also want to try a 4 5 6 reset (j k l if you have a qt) if the simple reset doesn't work.

Before you think about giving up on the card, try the resets as that can sometimes clear up connection problems.

I hope this is helpful.

Don

Subject: [Braillenote] My bn is being inconsistent

Hello all, I'm new to the list, and my bn is being inconsistent. Hopefully I can explain this so that it's understandable. A few days ago it got so that I couldn't get on to the Internet at all. I called Tech support, and we fixed that issue--at least mostly. But there are times when I try to connect to say Google, for instance, and what comes up is Cannot find server. So usually I'll try another site, and I'll get the same response. This happens whether I'm at home or somewhere else.

The other thing that happens is that occasionally I can't download email. I'll get some error code that says, can't connect to pop server, or something to that affect. It's not consistent, because maybe an hour later I'll be able to download email with no problem at all.

The third thing that is very strange is when I have downloaded a book from Bookshare and am ready to unpack the book, I'll get error 202. Why is it doing this? The other day I could unpack books on the flash disk, but yesterday I couldn't even do that, so my husband had to put my SD card on his laptop and unpack the book. Does anybody have any explanations of this? Thanks. Debby
