OK, here's my situation, folks. I have a classic BrailleNote. I have
a small business which I run from my home. The State of New York
purchased my BrailleNote for me, and I like many, many others, use
mine every day.
when I asked rehab back when the transplant option came out, to help
me with it, they said no because I was running my own business. All
well and good. So, I decided this fall to look into the possibility
of getting a transplant. I have an application for a low cost loan
sitting here.
If I want to upgrade my equipment, does this mean that I will get a
credit toward doing so? If so, is the $2,200.00 accurate. How much
more will I have to pay to get a new unit? Put another way, how much
money do I ask for from the loan people?
One would think that the adaptive tech industry would treat trainers
better than this. If I were running these companies, I'd sell to
trainers at half price because they spend their time training people
to use their equipment. You want to know the number of students I've
had in the past two years who have MPowers that I've tutored, even
though I just have a classic? I hate to tell you.
We need specific information, details about pricing, and especially
about maintinence agreements. One thing I discovered about the
Braille Sense is that it uses CF cards, not SD ones. CF cards are
going out of style. They won't be available soon.
