It even crashed in the middle of a hard reset. It said starting keysoft and
it still stuck there.

Sounds like a hardware or power problem.
The Clean Reset is used to initialize ROM by removing programs. To do
this, press DOTS 1-2-3 (FDS). But before you do this, try a Hardware
Reset (press reset button for about five seconds until the beep is
heard). The reasons are that you don't want to lose the programs such
as GPS and Dictionary, and to see if hardware reset fixes something.
