Subject: re: [Braillenote] traveling with apex

Hi,

Well, I have traveled with electrnic braille devices many times.
The Apex is the easiest I have ever travelled with by plane. I
never count it as a
carry-on and have not been challenged. I stick it in the seat
pocket in front of me so that I can easily get it for using on
the plane. Because the Apex is so thin, you don't have to remove
anything from the pocket--just don't forget it. Next best thing
is to put it in a small carry-on bag under the seat in front of
you--not very convenient. When I go through security, I put it
by itself in a bin but ask the officials to please be careful
with it because it's very expensive adaptive tech, and I tell
them it's an electronic braille device. I've never had trouble.
When it's time to get off the plan, I just put it on my shoulder
and go. The older Braille Notes are thicker. You can't get them
into the seat pockets without removing everything, and I have
done that too--except perhaps the safety featuffe card. I'm
going to Orlando in a few weeks myself.

Evelyn

Subject: [Braillenote] traveling with apex

Hi,
What should I know, be prepared for, avoid, think about, or do
concerning the apex when we are traveling? Our family is about
to go to disney in Florida.
I know, take the adaptor with,. And a friend said that it could
count as one of our carry on bags when boarding the plane.
What has been your experience? I haven't traveled by plane in a
few years.

Thanks,

Matt
