Hi, I travelled with my Apex a couple of weeks ago. There was no problem I
just pulled it out of my bag and put it on a tray with my laptop when going
through the X-ray. I said to the guy when putting it on that it was a
computer for the blind and he told me that they knew all about it and it
wasn't a problem. On my way home I left both the Apex and laptop in my bag
while going through X-ray and there wasn't any problems. I was travelling on
the same flight as a friend with a voicenote and he never took it out of his
bag. Most staff will hopefully know what it is and if not you should be able
to explain it. Being an Apex you can remove the battary which is what they
sometimes ask you to do with your laptops, with the MPower you just had to
explain that the battary didn't come out.
If you are still worried about being asked questions about it you can go on
the Humanware web page and print off some information about the Apex. I did
this the first time I was travelling with a Braillenote.
As others have said I wouldn't put it in my check in bag because those bags
get thrown around and you won't know if it will stay in one peice.
If you are planning on taking it out on the flight then make sure that
wireless is turned off. I'm not sure if this will interfear with the plaanes
computers but it is better to be safe then sorry.
bye for now,
From Shaz.
BN QT Apex and PK user.
