I doubt it since it only happens in those cases, as far as I can tell
from your message. Try unplugging the adapter, then go to the main
menu. Shake the unit around some, gently tapping and prodding the
battery through the case as you do so (it is near the back, on the
bottom, under the sd slot and back part of the scroll wheel). See if
you can get it to shut off that way.
