The clock will indeed keep time for thirty days, but that is it. The
power driving that is just enough for the clock, not the entire
machine. As soon as the battery is removed, if no adapter is present,
the bn shuts down and will reset once a new battery is inserted.
Assuming you have done everything correctly, I would say this is a
faulty battery from hw; we have heard reports of batteries being too
small before, and you may have gotten one of them.
