Exactly. I have only had to re-pair a few times in the nearly 12 months I have had my iPod, and much of that was due to iOS updates. However, after updating to iOS 5.0.1 just now, I had no problems, so even that occasional inconvenience seems to have gone. Mostly, I enter terminal mode and then unlock my iPod, and it is ready to go. The iPod only searches for displays when it is unlocked, not all the time, so you have to have the apex ready before using the iPod. Once that is done, though, you can do anything you want on the apex and re-enter terminal mode when you want to keep using the iPod (or iPhone or iPad).
