Hi, folks: At the risk of sounding like an old fuddy-duddy, (though, in fact,
that's precisely what I am), I want to ask a question, and make a comment.
Fin, the question: What the heck is wrong with the "file manager" menu? It
seems to me that it does exactly what it was designed to do--sort, move,
rename, erase and list your files. If you want to open a file, you need only
go to the folder, and do so.
Now, my comment: I've read some interesting ideas for future upgrades, but
here's the point. Anything that goes into an upgrade should be something which
will make the equipment more efficient, and serve more purposes. Therefore, I
really don't see how being able to listen to music in the background is that
useful. Fun; yes; useful, no! Also, as people keep reminding folks, this is
not a laptop, or a full-service PC.; it is a BrailleNote! It's an amazing unit,
for what it is, but it is, in fact, a notetaker. Any improvements should
probably be made in memory capacity, or, perhaps, enlarging the capacity of the
web browser, or, perhaps, making it easier to download FTP files, or
frame-dependent documents. Even so, if none of those things happen, it's still
a great unit. I say this: don't wish for too many extraneous bells and
whistles, as you might have to sacrifice a more useful function.
Well, that's it for me; the old fuddy-duddy's leaving now. Bob and Maxy-wax
