I may have overstated things but you can still use the infrared port but you
have to be a bit more careful when doing so.

I agree with you I can see no god reason to ever take the BN out of the
case.
If necessary, you can just unsnap the snap on one side, or if neeced unsnap
both sides, and it doesn't make it any harder to use.
Of course, you would not want to try and do the unsnapping while standing or
you would really have a problem... <smile>

I'm trying to remember but I think that the BT is just a slight bit thinner
than the QT and that may be part of the case difficulty when using the
inreared port.

     This is why I am not considering upgrading my cell phone to one that
has infrared capabilities, solely for that reason, anyway.  The strap at the
back of the case does cover most of that port up and it would be quite
unhandy to take the BN QT out of its case just to use that port.  Perhaps
there's some way to design the case so that there is still a strap most of
the way across the back with this port being left accessible within the
case.  I never take the unit out of the case.
