Hi Mike   I answered your questions below with the text that is
underlined. Please let me know how else I can assist.ThanksToddWhole Latte
loveI've got a slow drip out of the E61 group. I've got an
intermittentgurgling sound in the bowls of the machine. I get an occasional
overpressure of the steam boiler, which causes the pressure relief valveto
open. And, lastly, if I've left the machine on all day, when Icome home from
work and pull a shot, I hear one of the boilersrefilling (not sure which one)
before the shot will start. I also notewhat appears to be more water than
normal in the drain pan.Today I pulled the cover off, started up the Brewtus
from "coldirons", and watched what happened.1. The steam boiler heated up
normally. Once up to pressure, the heatcycled on at about 1.2 bar and off at
about 1.4 bar. I noted that thedripping from the E61 group started once the
boiler hit about 1.1bar. The dripping was continuous after that. The dripping
was fromthe bottom valve of the E61 group with the handle in the
full-downposition. If I put the handle in the mid position, the dripping
willcome from the portafilter. The cylingin on and off at 1.2 and 1.4 bar is
normal. There is a problem with a seal in the bottom part of the  brew group.
You can unscrew the big nut under the brew group and then the little one, take
it all apart and clean it. You will see  the rubber seals, make sure they are
clean. If after you check and clean it it still leaks it will be time to
replace them. 2. The water boiler heated up normally after the steam boiler
came upto pressure. The water boiler reached 95 and then the water and
steamboilers cycled on and off normally to maintain temperature/pressure.3. The
gurgling sound appeared to emanate from the steam boiler. While listening to the
noise I noted bubbles going through the plastictube between the heat exchanger
outlet on the steam boiler and theinlet on the water boiler. If I disconnect
the pump control switch(so that the pump will not come on with the handle in
the full-upposition), the gurgling sound increases appreciably, as does the
flowout of the portafilter. Eventually the flow will go to nothing butsteam.
The plastic tube between the steam and water boilers will havenothing but steam
in it. If I re-engage the pump, water will againflow through the plastic tube,
but it will take 10-15 seconds to getwater flow at the portafilter. The gurgling
is caused when the brew boiler looses water. My guess is that the water being
lost is the water that is coming out of the bottom tube on the E61 Brew group.
When you take care of this the gurgling will stop.4. I get random occurances
of over-pressure on the steam boiler, resulting in the pressure relief valve
opening at around 2 bar. Thereis no apparent pattern to when this will
happen. It is time for a new pressurestat.5. My habit patter when I pull a shot
is to first pre-heat my cupwith water from the steam boiler and then pull the
shot. When I comehome from work (Brewtus has been left on all day) and open
the valvefor hot water to pre-heat my cup, I'll get immediate flow of hot
waterfrom the wand, but then I'll hear one of the boilers refilling forabout 20
seconds. I'll also note that the drip tray seems to havemore water than
expected from my normal routine of shot pulling.I had thought that perhaps
there was a crack or a pin-hole in the heatexchanger which was allowing boiler
pressure and steam to migrate intothe water boiler and group head. However, if
I put a blank in theportafilter and run the pump, I do not see a concurrent
increase inpressure in the steam boiler, which should occur if there were a
crackor hole in the heat exchanger.I'm stumped. Hope you can help. I figure
the p-stat at a minimumneeds to be replaced, but the dripping and gurgling and
waterconsumption has got me scratching my head.It sounds the like the two
problems you have with the water leaking and the overpressure events are the
only problems, everything else sounds like it is working perfectly.  If you
would like I'll contact our tech support folks and they can set you up with a
new pressurestat.  Let me know.Sincerely,Mike
