That sounds like baloney to me. I have had my Brewtus II on a timer for four years with no electrical problems. The "shock" will be the same regardless if you turn the machine on and off with the machine's on-off switch, or if you turn it on with a timer. And if you use the timer, you are preserving your on-off switch. I have seen a number of emails here of people having burned out wires at the power switch.

If the argument is that you should leave your machine on all the time, I think that is baloney also and a waste of energy.
