I've had my Brewtus II for about 5 years now (Still got my email
receipt from 06), and I admit, I haven't been taking care of it as
much as I should. While I have been backflushing and cleaning with
cafeza regularly, I've recently been forgetting to recharge the
softener.

To start with, in the past year (2010) my E61 has been leaking, either
dripping from the bottom, or out the screen. Recently, I thought it
might be the buildup and so per instructions through here, I did a
descale. (There was a LOT of gunk built up). Unfortunately, this
didn't work. Still have a constant drip. I decided to peek into the
grouphead to see if it was the flat seals found on the three valves
and they could possibly use some replacing. How hard is it to replace
these seals? Is it easier to just buy three new valves, springs and
even a new mushroom? (The chrome plating was eaten away by the
scale).

If I do go through the preferred method of just replacing the washers,
springs and O-rings, how do I even remove the washers from the valves
themselves? They seem pretty stuck in there and I may need another
Pre infusion valve anyways due to the end not wanting to screw in
correctly.

I've looked through the archives and haven't found any mention of this
sort of rebuild (other than OPVs and hissing). I'll also be replacing
my screen and 8.5mm gasket, especially since the gasket just cracked
today.
