Pete,

I think it will loosen up a bit over time.  I replaced the gasket a few months 
ago in my Brewtus II and the portafilter handle tightens about a few minutes 
past 6. So 7:00 is within the range of normal, I would say.  As long as it 
stays in place when pulling a shot and it doesn't leak, I think you're in 
business.  Good luck with your new machine.  I have Brewtus IV envy.
