Mandrews58, I ordered the #F920 Portafilter with Gauge for E61 from Chris Coffee, and it was just shipped.
Back to my original issue of the dreaded squirts, I found that my own assumptions were my problem. My grind was way too loose, as I found out after using a graduated 4oz shot glass to measure time and quantity of a shot. I had been brewing into a 7oz Bodum double wall and over time, my view of volume was too much. I was probably pulling 3.5 oz in 20-25 seconds, so am not surprised that I had channeling. So, after turning the Macap 3.5 full turns, I am again getting the chocolate notes and creamy feel out of the Toscano. Looking forward to the gauge just as a verification of one parameter, and should be able to use the taste test to set the temp where it should be. Sure do love my Brewt! Generally when I have issues, the problem is the nut behind the wheel..... -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Brewtus" group.
