Some interesting comments for sure. I once went several months without removing the screen. When I finally did almost all the holes were completely gunked up with coffee and was really hard to clean. I'm cleaning it a lot more now but its good to see what some others are doing.
I've only descaled once. I have a Bestmax cartridge filter system which is supposed to keep things pretty scale free. Still, doing a descale once a year or so wouldn't hurt.
