When we did the first PID conversions (on B-1s), we installed 2 PIDs. We did not notice any negative changes. The only "benefit" I can recall was that we could change the temp/pressure with a few external button pushes rather than go in and guestimate the impact of turning an awkward screw. The reality is that there is no pressing reason to change the steam pressure frequently ... the issue is whether you want to run slightly over recommended pressure for the increased steaming time. The factory team felt that feature offered little value when they finally added the single PID to the brew boiler in the later machines (and probably avoided ~$100 of audio all mfg. costs. PIDs were not cheap in 2006.)
