Hi Herman! Yes, I can’t break the Brewtus habit. Mine has been lying in state
in the kitchen for a month or so. :)

I bought the ECM Synchronika from Todd at WLL, and it is a very nice upgrade.
Quiet, loads of steam, easy to open should I ever need to work on it (ha!), and
some small details that are really well thought out. It really feels like it
was designed from the ground up, as opposed to jamming a second boiler in there
and trying to make pipes and wires fit. So far so good.

I also added the BWT water treatment system from WLL (premium model with
flowmeter as an add-on) and so far I’m liking it. It supposedly eliminates the
need for descaling, and also adds back a bit of mineral to give an optimal
water profile for espresso. Seems reasonable to me, and the price is right.

Best to you and all and talk soon. Did you also replace your Brewt?
